Vasili is a master of genre switching, producing music under the names VASILI, Vasileios, Invisible Lines and KAMALA - each with their own signature identity. Despite his ability to push through sound and structural boundaries, Vasili’s atmospheric soundscapes curate a seamless auditory path. Vasili’s music has featured in BBC, TRT World and MSN/Time Inc. documentaries, and a number of independent films. The VA Project saw Vasili collaborate with European filmmakers to produce music videos and visuals for tracks from the album All is Vanity.
Vasili grew up in Athens Greece. He has lived in New Zealand for the past 20 years with an intervening stint in London where his second contemporary-classical album Katharsis was recorded and mixed. In the nineties Vasili was an active part of Greece’s Manchester and rave scene with Pure Parties. Though an accomplished DJ and member of various musical outfits, it wasn’t until 2012 that he curated his fist solo album.
